Pen and Paper is a versatile tool for handwritten notes on your iPad or iPhone. It allows you to import and annotate PDFs seamlessly.

INK: Sketch with your finger, adjust size, color, and position of your drawings.
TEXT: Easily add text, text boxes, change alignment, fonts, and colors. Useful for commenting on PDFs.
SHAPES: Enhance your notes with geometric shapes, arrows, and more. Use the built-in diagram tools to create visuals or clip art.
ZOOM AND SPLIT VIEW: Zoom in up to 10 times for detailed editing and utilize split view on the iPad for better document navigation.
PHOTOS: Incorporate photos, crop, and rotate them as needed.
BOOKMARKS: Add bookmarks for easy document navigation.
PDF SUPPORT AND SLIDE NOTES: Annotate PDFs, create slide notes using templates, and easily share or export as PDFs.
SHARING: Share notes via email as PDFs or extract pages as JPEG images.
LAYERS: Organize elements using layers for easier management.
PAGE STYLES: Choose from preset page styles or import your own PDF page styles.
ICLOUD SUPPORT: Store documents, clipart, and page styles in iCloud for easy access.
FONTS: Install extra Truetype fonts from sources like FontSquirrel within the app.

Key features include layers, pen and marker tools, smooth pan and zoom, split-view, bookmarks, search functionality, various design elements like text, arrows, shapes, and photos. Additionally, it offers area selection for moving and resizing content efficiently, built-in icon library, PDF import/export, various page styles options, fullscreen mode, iCloud support.

The subscription option removes watermarks on exports and unlocks the lasso tool while keeping all other features free of charge.
